So, we spent a lot of time in the car.
But it was worth it.
Great memories.
On the way home, we split it up into two days.
The first day, we drove from Dallas to Albuquerque, NM.
This was the conversation we had the whole way there.
McKenna: Moooom. When are we going to get to Apple-turkey?
Meg: Do you mean Albuquerque? After lunch, after naps, and then we'll get there for dinner.
(an hour or so later)
McKenna: Mooooom. When are we going to get to Apple-berry?
Meg: After naps, then we'll be there to eat dinner.
(an hour or so later)
McKenna: MOOOOOOM. When are we going to get to Applebee's?!!!!
Meg: {{laughs}} We are almost there.
We got to Apple-turkey in time to settle in our hotel, have some dinner, find an ice cream parlor, and read a bunch of books. The girls were thrilled to stay in a hotel.
The next day we saw this sign on the side of the freeway and had to stop:
What is a New Mexico experience without a stop at a Navajo Reservation and some Indian Fry Bread? The girls sure were pleased.
We also bought some dream catchers, a beautiful turquoise necklace, and a handmade arrow.
Oh, and did you know the Sphinx is located in Moab, UT?
And according to McKenna, the Eiffel Tower is somewhere between Dallas + Moab.
Actually, there are a bunch of them.
Other people sometimes refer to them as radio towers. :)

In case I haven't said it enough times before, I love McKenna! She makes me laugh!
Seriously I love McKenna too-- these are such great pics- they totally capture the moment. Glad you enjoyed Apple-turkey. I have to admit i'm not a huge fan of NM but then again we weren't fun enough to stop at the Indian Reservation and get Fry Bread...next time, next time, for sure. Then i'm sure to lOVE it.
